Christine, Linda & Kerri {Bridesmaids}

Cary's bridesmaids Christine, Linda and Michael's sister Kerri wore their hair in loose, wavy updos with braids and flowers and went with a makeup look similar to Cary's --- soft, romantic and pretty.
Here I am with Christine partway through her makeup:

Caroline {Wedding}

Cary and Michael's ceremony and reception was held at Santa Rosa Beach Club in November. It's fun to get to meet new faces through makeup jobs, but Cary is someone I've known for awhile. I can't believe it's been so long, but I've been friends with Cary and her sister Christine for a few years now. (Christine is the wedding coordinator at the Club and the go-to girl if you're looking for a fabulous location for the big day. I highly recommend it!)

Cary and Michael met playing softball and baseball in college, so she is very sporty and doesn't usually need to do a lot to look good. For the wedding day, however, she wanted a pretty, romantic look but still easy and laid-back. Aside from the first snapshots, the photos are by the super fab Ashley Livingston of Livingston Photography Co. who did an amazing job. I LOVE how everything turned out:

Doesn't she look absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations Cary!!!

Erin {Wedding}

Erin & Stewart were married at Santa Rosa Beach Club back in August and I am just now putting pictures up! It was so much fun getting to know Erin on her big day and doing her makeup - she was a perfect Southern belle. She was rockin some great tunes while everyone was getting pretty, which made the hair and makeup process that much more fun. All of the guests even got mix CDs with Erin & Stewart's favorite songs, complete with a note about why the song was important to them. Such a great idea to add a personal touch! A little Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Smashing Pumpkins (which Erin LOVES) and more. A fun mix to a fun day! I'm glad I got to be part of it and help Erin look every bit the classy girl she is.

GwyneMark Photography did a fabulous job, as always, capturing the day.

New York Looks

I just got back from a action-packed trip to New York City with my very favorite sister (well, my only sister!). It's one of my favorite places to go and is so fun to see different styles everywhere, from buildings to storefronts to fashion to makeup. Here are a few makeup looks I tried out while I was there.

The fresh face - a New York staple - involves careful use of highlighter with a flawless face and a touch of mascara. Perfect for daytime and anyone who is on-the-go.

Reddish eyeshadow (anywhere from rose to rust) adds a little something that helps eyes pop and is really not as scary as it sounds. Here it almost matches the china at Alice's Tea Cup on the UES.
For a more downtown look, I added purple eyeliner only on the bottom lashline before heading out to catch the subway. Very fun for a night on the town.
Finally, how sweet it is to enjoy a laidback afternoon in the Village with a little baby pink lip gloss. Not too girly, but just enough to be cool.

Christina {Wedding}

I had a great time hanging out with Christina and her sisters, helping them get dolled up for the wedding. They were all hilarious and such a fun Catholic family from St. Louis! I did makeup for all four sisters, their mom Dori and two bridesmaids. I even put a little pink on the cheeks of the adorable flower girl. The pink and green Lilly Pulitzer theme was so cute! Since it was so busy, I didn't get a chance to take any snapshots of the girls, but here are a few the fabulous Amanda Suanne took of the day. I'll try to post more of the bridesmaids if I can get a few good face shots. Enjoy!

More of Christina's pictures here. Thanks for sharing, Amanda!

Baylee {Wedding}

Meeting Baylee and helping her get ready for her big day was so much fun! She is pretty laid back, friendly and better yet, a fellow Florida State fan! Her garter was even garnet and gold! Baylee's usual makeup look is very natural and minimal. She wanted to pump up her usual look for the wedding without looking like a different person, while making sure she didn't look washed out in pictures. Sometimes getting the low-key look just right can be more challenging than a strong makeup look!
Despite a little rain, Baylee was all smiles and here she is bare-faced Baylee before (already cute!):

I used a shimmery pearl eyeshadow with a pale pinky bronze color on the eyes, and a similar shade on both the cheeks and lips. We balanced the eyes with brown liner and black mascara. And here is made-up Baylee after:Beautiful and still looking like herself. She loved it!

Her sister Britney also had her makeup done with a less is more look in mind. She said she rarely wears a lot of makeup and never really knew what to do. A lot of blonde-haired, fair-skinned girls are afraid of putting on too much, but in the right places, it works. I layered a generous amount of foundation to cover a blemish on the forehead (Can you see it?) and added a light blush to give a bit of a peaches and cream look. Britney's eyes really popped after adding brown liner all the way around and a pretty taupe eyeshadow. A little pale pink gloss finished it off!

They were both naturally beautiful! I even managed to steal a few pictures from Baylee of the bride and groom during the ceremony. What a cute couple!

Congratulations Baylee!

Julie {Wedding}

I didn't get to meet Julie until the Thursday before her wedding when we did the trial, but she was so fun and so cute! She said she doesn't typically wear a lot of makeup and wanted to keep her look very natural while trying to play up her eyes. I gave Julie a nice glow with liquid foundation, soft pink blush (who doesn't love NARS Orgasm?) and all over bronzer. I kept her eye shadow soft while using a strong black liner on her top lid. With that, mascara and pale gloss goes a long way. She looks so pretty! What better look for a beach wedding than soft and sweet makeup?

Here are a few shots fabulous photographer Jenny Gomillion captured as the beautifying took place:

Julie's mom also had her makeup done and she was so funny! I think getting hair and makeup done is the perfect opportunity to kick back and relax in the midst of what can be a very emotional and stressful day. It's best just to take it all in and kick your heels up.

I went for a more dramatic eye here, especially since she would be wearing glasses. I didn't want her pretty eyes to be hidden away!

And the finished product! Look how nice and rosy her cheeks are. So pretty and refreshed! She definitely had that mother-of-the-bride glow.

Congratulations again, Julie! I had so much fun hanging out with you girls!

P.S. Thanks for the pictures, Jenny!
